Nicki Minaj’s video for “Your Love” just premiered on MTV. “Your Love“, is 2nd track from “Massive Attack” (produced by Sean Garrett) to be released from her upcoming debut album. Nicki’s LP, which has not been titled, hits the stores on November 23rd.

This song, which samples Annie Lennox’s 1995 hit “No More I Love You’s”, so far has peaked at #1 on the Billboard Rap Charts, #8 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and #18 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Check out Alicia Key’s new video “Un-thinkable” co-written by Drake. The song also features background vocals from Drizza Drake!

The racially charged, sixties-era vid features love-interest & leading man, Chad Michael Murray from the CW tv network series, One Tree Hill. The video was directed by Jake Nava and the song has so far peaked at #5 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and #44 on the Billboard Hot 100.

I love this song & vid!!! From the 25 year old entertainer from Nigeria & MoHits artist, Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe aka Wande Coal, comes this hot new music video from his debut album “Mushin to Mohits“.

The single “Who born the maga” is a definitely street banger!!!! It’s a mid-tempo hip-hop beat with some great Don Jazzy’s production touches to it. The song also features MoHits fellow artist and D’Banj’s younger brother, K-Switch and the video was directed by Sesan.

Hectic day today! Two music video releases with similar themes: Home-makers…sexy homemakers! Earlier today, we premiered Sade Adu’s new video for her second single “BabyFather“, in which she plays a sexy homemaker who is doing daily chores…

And later on today, Beyonce released a brand new music video for her dance track “Why Don’t You Love Me?” & hers is vintage sixties/seventies’ sexy homemaker doing all kinds of house chores. My favorite is scene where she is gardening & she finds a snake, picks it up, all carefree mind you and tosses away!! Classic!

Co-writers for the song included little sister, Solange Knowles….

and cousin Angie…

Beyonce was spotted  in Chelsea, New York City last night leaving the 9th Annual Spring Fling Party by stylist Harry Josh. Seen on her left hand was a “BROOKLYN” tat? …*ok*

Bey also released a sneak peek of her new video “Why Don’t You Love Me” as a special gift for her fans. This is is the ninth video off of her multi-platinum selling studio album “I Am… Sasha Fierce”. No word on when the full video will actually premier…

So this is interesting on so many levels. For one, the timing of Bey’s new video release because fellow former Destiny’s Child group member Kelly Rowland is also releasing music video for her new single “Commander”.

Also in this sneak peek, Bey channels Rosie the Riveter, an American cultural icon. Well Kelly Rowland did her alter-ego photo shoot with celeb photographer Derek Blanks back in January of this year….& Kelly’s theme for the photo shoot?!? Rosie the Riveter vs the Pin Up Girl!

Not sure who is channeling who now!

New music Monday!

So Quincy Jones’ upcoming album “Q: Soul Bossa Nostra“, scheduled to be released this summer (May/June, 2010 timeframe). Akon’s reinterpretation of the Brothers Johnson 1997 classic, “Strawberry Letter 23” has been tapped as the project’s lead single. Here’s the video of the new version (the Brothers Johnson 1997 classic version was produced by Quincy Jones)…

Quincy Jones is executive producing the upcoming album, which also features Jennifer Hudson covering the 1995 single “You Put a Move on My Heart,“. Ludacris and Naturally 7 revamping the 1962 single “Soul Bossa Nova” as the project’s title track and Usher, Robin Thicke, LL Cool J, Trey Songz, Tyrese and Tevin Campbell joining forces on the 1990  No. 1 R&B hit “The Secret Garden“.

Other artists on this “Q: Soul Bossa Nostra” tribute to Quincy Jones include Mary J. Blige, Talib Kweli, BeBe Winans, Three 6 Mafia, Jermaine Dupri, Scott Storch and Jamie Foxx. Essentially this project features contemporary versions of songs from Quincy Jones’ extensive catalog…

Erykah Badu’s new album cover

I literally got chills when I first watched Erykah Badu’s latest music video for her song  “Window Seat“. Not due to her nudity at the end but for the overall message that she conveys in this music video…

GROUP THINK!

They play it safe. Are quick to assassinate what they do not understand. They move in packs, ingesting more & more fear with every act of hate on one another. They feel most comfortable in groups, less guilt to swallow.

So apparently she tweeted that “#windowseat was shot guerilla style, no crew , 1 take , no closed set , no warning , 2 min . , don town dallas , then ran like hell…”

And it was unclear want the blue blood spelt at the end of the video, well thanks again to Twitter, Erykah clarified with another tweet; “my blood at the end of the video spelled out GROUPTHINK“

Here is the music video by Matt & Kim that inspired Erykah’s version. She tweeted, “i was inspired by this contagious act of freedom and artistic expression.” Check it:

And if Twitter was not enough, she took to The Wall Street Journal to talk about her upcoming album, “New Amerykah Part Two: Return Of The Ankh” and the controversy surrounding her music video to “Window Seat”

Erykah talked about the concept of GROUP THINK and her are some explanations from her tweets: “Groupthink, a term coined by social psychologist Irving Janis (1972)”, “group think is the illusion of monothinking which causes conformity. The orgin is unknown. It’s human nature” & “#GROUPTHINK People who follow whatever story or policy is handed to them without question“
