The Queen has a new movie opening in theaters May 14th featuring rapper/actor Common as her love interest. Queen Latifah plays Leslie, a physical therapist who falls for basketball player Scott McKnight played by Common, whom she’s helping recover from a career-threatening injury. Things get complicated because Scott is drawn to Morgan (Paula Patton – she was in the movie, Precious & is Robin Thicke’s wife), the gorgeous best friend of Leslie who has her sight set on being an NBA trophy wife….so Leslie has to choose getting Scott, her lucrative job or her bestie, Morgan. Also in the movie is Pam Grier the original Foxxy Brown.

Oscar nominee Lee Daniels, Rev. Al Sharpton, LaTanya Richardson [Samuel L. Jackson's wife] & other notables attended the screening of “The Blacklist: Volume Three” at The Paley Center for Media in New York City this past Wednesday.

“The Blacklist: Volume Three” is a new HBO Documentary premiering this coming Monday, February 8 at 8:30pm. Well it is not entirely new because it follows the critically acclaimed HBO specials The Black List: Volume I and The Black List: Volume II. This is the third installation that  features a new remarkable group of African-American notables who share candid stories and revealing insights into the struggles, triumphs and joys of Black life in the U.S.

Profiled in this third installation are Whoopi Goldberg, Hill Harper, Beverly Johnson, Debra Lee, LaTanya Richardson, Lee Daniels, John Legend and Dr. Michael Lomax.

Why Did I Get Married Too, reunites the same charismatic cast and characters from the first installation of Tyler’s  hit comedy/drama, Why Did I Get Married. The sequel is the next chapter in the lives of eight college friends struggling with the challenges of marital life.

According to the plot summary, gathered together in the Bahamas for their annual one-week reunion, the FOUR close couples eagerly reconnect, sharing news about their lives and relationships. But their intimate week in paradise is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of [Jill Scott] Sheila’s ex-husband, [Richard T. Jones] Mike, who hopes to break up her new marriage with [Lanman Rucker] Troy and win her back.

The others soon realize they too are not immune to the challenges of commitment and fidelity. The Director & Producer of the movie, Chineze Xandria Anyaene of Xandria Productions is originally from Nigeria and she completed her Masters in Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy in 2007. This is her first full length feature film…go girl!
