Last Wednesday I had the pleasure of being wined and dined at Kream Restaurant at the Brooklyn Bridge in Pretoria. Firstly I normally don’t drive to Pretoria because of e-tolls and distance but I felt like owed myself to do something nice.
I headed out thinking it’s just going to be a simple night of sampling a new menu with a large crowd. But I had it all wrong, we were ushered into a private room know as the Glenvilet Room very posh, i’m glad i actually dressed up and got dolled up.
First order of the night was wine, followed by an introduction to some members of the ‘Wolf Pack’. Really lovely and super friendly people who genuinely love what they do. The atmosphere in the room was great, the wine was flowing and the food was top notch.
The starter: crayfish sausage with preserved lemon foam, compressed watermelon and mint coulis. Loved this I am a huge fan of seafood so this was right up my alley. Can’t flaw it already maybe bigger another sausage of crayfish would help.
Second course: Cured duck breast. Not really a fan of duck but fairly enjoyed it and the wine that was paired with it was my favourite.
Dessert: White chocolate panna cotta, liquorice syrup, coconut coral sponge, black sesame crisp, vanilla bean meringue and watermelon gelato. Heaven on earth I tell you.
The food was amazing, great coversation all around, great wines, great company, excellent hosts and amazing team.
Overall I had a great night and i’m glad that I pushed myself to go. Really cannot get over the food we had and best of all being part of the Wolf Pack gang.
Speaking of the Wolf Pack, they are super friendly and give the best hugs ever.
Thanks to Rumbi of Salt and Pepper for the invite really had a great evening of luxury and elegance.
