Africas Walk Of Fame Set To Be Launched



In aid of catching up to Hollywood, an African Walk of Fame is set to be launched on Mandela Day but that will be the “mock” launch while the official launch will be held in September.

The Rosebank Killarney Gazette has reported that Cradock Avenue in Rosebank will be lined with stars referred to as the Afri-Global Walk of Stars.

The following are set to be awarded their stars this year:

South African Class of Inaugural Inductees:

Theatre/Live: Performance Joe Mafela

Sport: Lucas Radebe

Recording: Hugh Masekela

Meritorious: Imtiaz Sooliman

Television: Rolene Strauss

Sport: Francois Pienaar

Recording: Oscar Mdlongwa aka Oskido

Sport: AB De Villiers

Television: Connie Ferguson

Meritorious: Andrew Mlangeni, Ahmed Kathrada, and George Bizos

Theatre/Live: Performance Sello Maake KaNcube

Sport: Gary Player

Film: Leon Schuster
