Africa’s Mbo Mahocs covers Kwantuthu Arts Magazine

May is the month we celebrate Africa Day. In the spirit of celebrating being African, Zimbabwe’s Top Arts publication, Kwantuthu Arts Magazine partnered with Zimbabwean Socialite/Actress/TV Presenter/Fashionista & Entrepreneur – Mbo Mahocs in doing a cover celebrating a modern African person. The cover involved a whole lot of the country’s most talented individuals, shot by Award Nominated Director/Film Producer/Photographer – Andy Cutta, Directed by Chris Nqoe of Mens Journal & GTee and with incredible make up done by Charmaine Fynn of Vault Cosmetics, there is no other better word to describe it, but BANG.

Themed #TheBoldOne, the cover and spread highlights Mbo Mahocs in different strong expressions and also celebrates Zimbabwean Designers and creatives through her outfits. In her interview, Mbo Mahocs talks about her new range of skirts, a partnership she is working on with  Zimbabwean Male Designer – Melusi Nhengu, her new gig as a Co-Host on Zimbabwe’s radio – Skyz Metro FM and having thick skin in the industry. Graced in Ndebele Beads, she celebrates being a Modern African woman and also embracing those around her.

WHY THE COVER?  “This cover is about growing thick skin as a woman in the business. After the world bat- ters you with whatever it throws at you, lies, assumptions, negativity, hate and even love, what makes you conquer is standing tall, chin up & just doing you! Grow thick skin! This speaks for all the women out there that have experienced #hate #oppression in the indus- try & have no voice, our Miss Zimbabwe for instance. Do YOU! It also celebrates my being a Modern African woman, connecting with my being, roots and also keeping up to date. May is Africa month and I am excited to be seen as a hard working African woman.” – Mbo Mahocs
