Exclusive: Mafikizolo During The 2014 BET Awards & BET Experience In L.A!

Filed under : Africa, Entertainment, Music

I finally met the South African mega duo!

Nhlanhla and Theo are the crazy talented duo behind the monster hit song “Khona” and they were part of the group of African artists nominated for the 2014 BET Award in the International Act – Africa category.  I caught up with the duo just after the performed at the BET Experience – this was the first time ever for Mafikizolo to perform in the USA – so I was just as giddy, proud, nervous, excited, all kinds of emotions as they were. I was able to wish them much success backstage before they went on to perform…and boy did they rock the crowd!

These two make me proud to be African, i am immensely moved by their music. It is true that this has become the African anthem and as Africa is rising, we are truly blessed to remain original. Great ambassadors of women and men of Africa. Our girls and all our children have people to look forward to who are making it big in the global market. Super super awesome!!! & Farai, a job very well done! You are lifting our Zimbabwean flag girl!
