The MTV MAMA’s have come and gone…

The much anticipated Mtv Africa Music awards (MAMA) took place at The Durban ICC in South Africa. The crowds came out in their numbers it was indeed a night to remember (from my screens of course).

American comic act and actor Marlon Wayans was the host for the evening I must say he sucked at it as I expected much much more from him,his jokes weren’t all that funny  and he wasn’t the perfect host for the crowd out in Durban but anyway that is a story for another day.

Khloe Kardashian (whom I Love) was there alongside her boyfriend French Montana. Even though Khloe refused to do any interviews with the media, guess mama K told her to stay away from the media. I wasn’t very pleased with her attitude towards the media but I won’t blame her she is a Kardashian after all.

TreySongs and Miguel were amongst the stars of the evening 21year old Davido from Nigeria took home Best Male and Artist of the year. South Africa’s very own Mafikizolo won Group of the Year and the big award of the evening Song of the year. Black Mambazo’s performance were one of my favourite performances on the night, their accappela on Via Orlando was super cool never heard before. Uhuru was the show stopper with their award winning sing Ytjukujta the group also won two awards. I also enjoyed TreySongz performance which blew the crowd away.

However the sound system was terrible there were far too many gliches , mics were not working which just spoiled the evening.

Overall I had a good time watching them at home in my living room hahahahahah. Next time please do invite us, we would also like to be amongst the stars.
