A New Age Phenomenon: Local Musician, Nic Billington

Brace yourselves for a new age phenomenon as South African musician, Nic Billington, invades millions of homes with his infectious blend of pop, dubstep and edgy dance music.

Nic, who has been dubbed the hottest new addition to the local musicscene by People Magazine, is geared up to release his highly anticipated debut album, entitled Overload, this February. The 15 track CD containing 13 originals, including an exciting collaboration with celebrity socialite and Taiwan Idols winner – Jen Su, will be available in all major music stores across South Africa, as well as over 200 online stores around the world, including iTunes.

“I would describe my sound as a fusion of pop, electro and dance music. You can expect some retro elements with a modern twist (on my album). It’s commercial, it’s catchy and it’s extremely fun – with a lot of attitude,” says Nic.

The album, which has been titled after the lead single “Overload” and released by Clango Media, is already heating up the airways across the country. The single is described as a modern-day up-tempo ballad, and was produced by the electrifying new dubstep act, Bash n Crash. A music video for the single is currently in production and is set to premiere on television in February.

Nic had his first taste of success early last year with his buzz track called “Kiss”. The song chartered on numerous radio stations across South Africa – even reaching the top 10 on East Coast Radio. The sleek and futuristic music video that accompanied the single became a favourite on SABC 3’s Side Track.

With Nic Billington’s boyish good looks, charming personality, and impeccable song writing and singing flair, there is no stopping him from becoming the ultimate cream of the crop in the music industry.
But don’t believe the hype, believe the proof… Nic Billington’s new single and music video can be sampled from his official website at www.nicbillington.com.
