FAB NEWS: South African Songbird Lira Set To Sing For US President Obama’s Inauguration!

One of South Africa’s gems, Lira is set to perform at the inaugural ball of US President Barack Obama in Washington DC early next year…21st January to be exact.

This spells great news for the singing sensation who has been trying to break into the American music scene for three years now. Lira was chosen amongst several other African artist for the African theme inaugural ball which was added to the themed inaugural balls.

Lira’s manager and husband Robin Kohl, confirmed the gig and described it as “massive”, according to channel 24.

“This is an amazing opportunity. The ball will be televised by networks from all over the world. The exposure is massive. How many people can say that they have performed live for an African-American US president? We are ecstatic about this. We have really worked hard at breaking into the US market and now it seems to be paying off at last.”

Lira and her band will leave for the US on 19 of January to perform for US President and 200+ state heads.
