I miss my city!!!!
Watching the movie trailer for “Sparkle” brought back memories of one my beloved adopted American cities, Detroit, MI where the movie was shot.
With the world still grieving the lost of one of our biggest icons, Whitney Houston, Sony Pictures have finally released the official movie trailer for the upcoming musical film ‘Sparkle’, starring Jordin Sparks, Cee-Lo Green, Mike Epps, and of course, the late Whitney Houston.
Tika, Carmen & Jordin
‘Sparkle’ was slated to be Whitney‘s comeback movie where she plays the mother of three girls played by Jordin Sparks, Carmen Ejogo & Tika Sumpter, who form a girl group. Set in the 1960s, the three sisters soon become Motown sensations, but fame, drug addiction become a challenge and the close-knit family begins to fall apart.
Whitney Houston is listed as the Executive producer of the film. She worked hard to get “Sparkle” to the screen for 12 years. It was her first movie since 1996’s “The Preacher’s Wife” and 20 years since her debut in the blockbuster movie “The Bodyguard”. The movie is set to hit theaters August 8th.
