I totally love cooking shows and MasterChef is one of those that I can watch the whole day.

With a local version being adapted, I sure can’t wait for them to show case some local dishes and their take on them.

The launch was held yesterday afternoon in Montecasino, in Fourways and was well attended by celebrities. M-Nets station head Pierre Cloete said “We’re stoked because this is the first time that we’re creating a cooking show of this calibre”.

The winner will become the head chef of MondoVino restaurant in Montecasino. The judges will be Benny Masekwameng, Andrew Atkinson, John Torode (of MasterChef Australia) and Pete Goffe-Wood.

The show debuts on Tuesday night at 19h30 South African time on M-Net; it will be an 18 part series that was shot at the Nederburg Estate in Paarl, Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg.
