Meet Coach Roz Washington….snap! snap!

Check out this sneak peak into Nene Leakes‘ acting debut on Fox’s hit show, Glee.

Sam Evans (played by Chord Overstreet who returns back to Glee) comes face to face with his new swim coach, Coach Roz, played by ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star NeNe Leakes for the first time.

Sam Evans, I’m Coach Roz Washington and you are one strange-looking kid. I have never seen lips like that on a White child. When I was growing up everybody said that Black folks couldn’t swim. But I had a dream, I swam my way to the promised land and got my forty-acres and a mule…

Chord Overstreet chats about his return back to Glee & synchronized swimming:

Sam’s also going to join the synchronized swim team this season. Are you excited for some pool time:

Well, I’ve been synchronized swimming since I was 5. I’m actually a professional synchronized swimmer, so I told them about that storyline. No, I’m kidding, I’m not really. I’m going to try and take lessons so that I can method act my way through it [laughs]. I took swim lessons when I was 4 or 5, so I think I’ll be fine.

Why synchronized swimming? Couldn’t Sam have joined the water polo team? That seems more up Sam’s alley:

I think water polo is too rough. Synchronized swimming is probably more of a sport that you’d get made fun of for, and I think it’s more of a challenge for Sam to do that and compromise that to get this Letterman jacket that’s going to get this girl. It’s a pretty ballsy move, and Sam wants to prove that he’ll do anything for her, even embarrass himself.

Watch now:

Looks likes it is going to be an interesting semester this season at McKinley High.

NeNe Leakes also sat down with the folks over at The Insider to discuss her new reoccurring role on Glee as Coach Roz Washington:

I’m on ‘Glee’ and I play a character called Roz Washington. She’s the synchronized swim coach and she’s nemesis to Sue Sylvester, who is Jane. And you know, she’s very strong willed; she’s very straight forward; she’s not afraid of Sue Sylvester and she’s there to take somebody’s job.
