“Siiiiilent niiiiiiight. Hooooooly niiiiiiight…”

Yes, I do have a fab day job, thank you very much! *smile* Singing is not exactly my forte however…

The legendary MTN Joyous Celebration is gearing up to get fans into the spirit of the Christmas with their fabulous singing!

There will be nothing “silent” about the 15th of December as the iconic Gospel choir, MTN Joyous Celebrations’ music will be reverberating at the Carnival City in the East rand. This is their first ever concert in the East Rand. Co-founding Member, Lindelani Mkhize explained the reason why the iconic Gospel Choir is performing in the East Rand:

“Just before everyone drives out of Johannesburg to their various holiday destinations, we felt that this would be a better way to get them into the festive season, singing songs of praise with us just for one last time this year,”

It will indeed be a “joyous” season as  MTN Joyous Celebration records their 16th season. I am sure most of us will be put in a jolly mood just in time for Christmas.

Their previous seasons have been successful and well received, with the recently ended 15th season finishing off with a retrospective show looking back to where they are coming from to where they are now. It was also during their 15th season that MTN Joyous Celebration released 4 CDs and 2 DVDs, which were broken up in two parts, released just a couple of months apart from one another.

The highly anticipated 16th Season has come and its promising to be all that we know and much much more as they are taking a slightly different approach and want people to know what “joyous celebration” really means and what it is all about.

“For Joyous 16, we shift the focus to the literal meaning of ‘joyous celebration.’ We want to rejoice and revel through music. The sound is going to be more light-hearted with a lot of sing-alongs and ensembles within the big group,” – Lindelani Mkhize

With the old members and some new members joining the choir, I can only imagine what that night will be like, and it is one concert I will not want to miss. Tickets to the concert are priced between R150 and R300 and can be booked via Computicket or any Shoprite/Checkers outlet.

Hope to see you all there! And for all my friends on the East Rand, prepare for your roofs to be blown right off……
