2011 MetroFM Awards Winners & 10 ThingsTo Do Before Attending An Awards Ceremony!

As many of us may know (and to all of you who don’t, shame on you!) THEEEEEEE epic event that people look forward to year after year took to the scorching hot streets of Mbombela, (Nelspruit, Mpumalanga) in South Africa .

The 2011 MetroFM Music Awards held yesterday, had people like the great actor Tumisho Masha, and many other die hard fans giving it props via Twitter!

T-bo Touch & Mokgadi Seabi

The event, hosted by ‘Hip Hop ImpresarioT-bo Touch, and the ever-so-gorgeous Zizo Beda had many in awe as they had performances by the legendary Trompies! And many other amazing artists doing their thing!

Zizo Beda on her way to the Awards

@LesLehM: “Trompies on stage, even at 60 (average age) still going strong. Hats off!

However, our focus here today, will not be on “who won what” award (Yawn-Fest) but rather, we will be giving you our very own list of things to do when attending Awards. In case you need a bag of tips, for future reference of course. The just ended MetroFM Music Awards have given us great reason to compile this list, and we hope that you might take it to good use!

*In my best David Letterman voice* ThingsTo Do Before Attending An Awards Ceremony:

No 10: Choose you date wisely! Ladies you don’t want a man who is going to show the whole world of his abusive ways when drunk (we see this a lot at these events you know). Fellas, you don’t want a woman who is going to reveal her *kasi* ways when she’s hit the bottle! Conclusion: A good partner, an even better night *wink*.

No. 9: Ladies, put your gold digging ways aside (should you have any), and make sure you got your own ride to get to the event, that you have money to pay for the things you want! There’s nothing that’s sexier than an independent honey, with a good head on her shoulders! *Salute to all the ladies who got their own ends!*

Uyanda Mbuli & friend

No. 8: Men, if you have absolutely no sense of style, get your mother to help you pick out a lovely complimentary suite, nothing beats a man with the right cut, the right size and the right colour co-ordination! Now that’s a recipe for Mr perfect (well, some of the ingredients anyway).

No. 7: If you don’t have a ticket…where are you going?! SIT DOWN & (just stay home)! *Nonhle voice*

No. 6: Make sure the company that you have is on point! You don’t want to get half way through the journey and realise that you are not on the same page as the people you are with!

No. 5: Make sure that if you are going to the Awards with someone other than your husband / wife, that your spouse is not going to be there! The last thing an innocent bystander needs is to experience is a whole lot of drama! Everyone just wants to have a good time!

Khanyi Mbau & date *walks by whistling*

No.4:  Celebrities LOVE events such as these, simply because they get freebies!!! So, to all the South Africa’s finest, Do Behave! Surely you want your loyal fans to stay as such…be role model material!

No.3: When you walk into the venue, make sure you are ready for full throttle, flat out, non-candy-coated JUDGEMENT. Know that you left the non-judgment zone when you left your house. All eyes will be on you, so make sure you have some thick tough crocodile skin on your back (or you might just end up having a nervous breakdown).

Somizi *Best styled artist honey!*

No. 2: No one cares about your emotional state of mind! So if you are going to attend any type of awards, leave your emotional drama in the toilet, don’t share your life story with random people who are trying to forget about theirs! Let go, let live,

No. 1: Its the awards BABY!!! Put your DANCING shoes on (be certain of the comfort, the heel size, the freedom to move easily), be certain you’ve got all the latest moves imprinted in your head, you don’t want to be that random girl /guy busting an ancient move on the dancefloor (unless the music allows of course)

Alas, our list has come to an end! With all that has been said, judging from all the Twitter and Facebook comments, a lot of people / celebrities could do with a list like this! #JUSTSAYIN’

im glad Rebecca Malope walk away with nothing for the third time in the metro fm awards! she is greedy!its embarrassing to see a legend of her magnitude competing with young emerging artists.for the past years peplpe  were  advising her to give other emerging artists a chance to compete for awards, she’s abusing her domonants.these young artists are here to stay, cos they are hungry for success.her dominance is over!

  • Vuyisa Vusani
