Ndeipi? Wassup?

The dynamic Afropop/R&B brothers BKay & Kazz have taken some time out to lend a charitable hand to the crisis in East Africa.

The UK-based Zimbabwean duo, joined organisers of the Zimfest London festival where they are headlining this weekend, to record a heartfelt appeal for the world to give to the crisis.

Born Seiraj (BKay) and Farhaan (Kazz) Khan, the brothers have confirmed a starring role at the Zimfest fete where an expected crowd of 3,000 will be treated to an intimate gig at Prince George’s playing fields in Raynes Park.

Zimfest is a community development project started and run by UK based Zimbabwean Charity WEZIMBABWE. It is open to anyone who likes a good braai, good music and sport, the cornerstones of Southern African culture, and is a unique opportunity to show some love for Africa in a fun and family friendly environment.

BKay said:

“We have done and polished the rehearsals of our set for Zimfest and we are just buzzing to get on there and have fun now. We are thrilled and can’t wait!”

It has been a fantastic year for the brothers whose 2011 album, African Spirit, is doing fantastically well on the charts; while their single 7 Wonders has been nominated for Record of the Year in the prestigious Afrotainment Museke Online African Music Awards (MOAMA’S). Earlier this year, the duo also won the Best Artistes on the Year award at a glitzy Zimbabwe Achievers Awards ceremony in London.

Gracing the stage with BKay and Kazz will be one of UK’s brightest young pop talents Tinashe who is also nominated for a MOAMA in the Diaspora song of the Year category.
