2011 CASH KINGS: FORBES List Of Hip-Hop’s Top Earners For 2011! Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa & More!

Hey guys & dolls!

Jay & ‘Ye‘s highly anticipated collabo just released yesterday and today the duo top the Forbes’ list of Hip Hop’s top earners! Coming in at #1 (Jay Z) and #3 (Kanye West) respectively!

Newcomers to the list were Nicki Minaj, the first female rapper ever to grace the list, Wiz Khalifa (if he made it, then back to my grind), rapper-singer-songwriter B.o.B and Pitbull (who?)

I was really surprised that 50Cent at #17, earned US$6 million tying in with his nemesis, Rick Ross and Armando “Pitbull” Perez (who again?)

Akon is the only African to make the list & some of his earning came from doing shows in Africa and collabo’s with African artists….

Senegalese-American singer-songwriter-producer extraordinaire, Akon caked up on a string of international concerts from Australia to Zimbabwe, a lucrative World Cup spot with Pepsi, a host of business ventures and hit song “I Just Had Sex,” which has garnered over 115 million YouTube views since its December debut.

The success of hip-hop’s top earners shows just how powerful the genre has become as a commercial force. Led by Jay-Z and Diddy, the top 20 of the Forbes’ list combined to earn $271 million, taking home cash from live shows, recorded music, endorsements and a wide range of other entrepreneurial ventures…
