Let me start off by saying that I do not watch Big Brother and I’m not a fan and hence I caught a bit of the action via Twitterville. So it was not hard to gather that many people (mostly South African’s) were more than just upset that fan favourite Luclay did NOT win! My timeline was filled with #BBA tweets that expressed anger and disgust at how the BBA votes for Luclay were “rigged”.

Nigeria and Zimbabwe are celebrating with their winners tonight. Karen Igho from Nigeria and Wendall Parson from Zimbabwe each walked away with a cash prize of $200 000 as they came out tops from their housemates.

Africa voted as follows:

Karen: 6 country votes – Nigeria, Angola, Rest of Africa, Ghana, Mozambique, Tanzania
Wendall: 4 country votes – Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Kenya
Luclay: 2 country votes – South Africa, Botswana
Lomwe: 1 country vote – Malawi
Sharon O: 1 country vote – Uganda
Hanni: 1 country vote – Ethiopia
Vina: 0 Country Votes.

Poor Vina, I would be embarrassed! Anyway, I hope Luclay recovers well clearly everyone thought he would win but forgot to vote…(Personally I can’t say I’m surprised despite not being a fan of the show. With most reality TV shows the fan favourite rarely win e.g. American Idols David Cook vs David Archuleta…)

I hear Karen is an aspiring model and actress, so this money will come in handy for her…as for this Wendall guy, he looks like the type who would spend it all wisely!!!

From your girl Allegro Dinkwanyane- “I’m just saying”, so have your say…

What did you think of the finale and the winners?

I am not shocked with the outcome. The show is reliant the greatest text votes. An area which has a massive population can really be described as a great asset in games similar to this.

I certainly and actually feel that Luclay really should win the prize. Oh well, it’s alright bcause I believe Jesus knows best and have a reason for every things.congratulations to Queen Karen and king Wendall,

No real shock. A Nigerian sponsored event, and a Nigerian dominated voting procedure. Just my viewpoint.

Nice viewpoint Michael, I agree with you…pity people who loved Luclay ddnt vote enough for him!

  • Mbuco

most people voted but we needed other country votes for Luc to be a winner.

They should count votes and not countries, obviously SA won’t win, since the other countries feel we have advantage of hosting the BB show and the language is alos our advantage, that is why only Botswana voted for Lucry. Za
