TEDxHarare: “Ideas Worth Spreading” Comes To Harare, Zimbabwe!

Filed under : Africa, Art & Culture

Ndeipi? Wassup?

That was your Shona lesson for the day! Ndeipi is “wassup” in Shona, language spoken in Zimbabwe (if you don’t know, now you know!)…

Not sure if you guys have attended TEDx events or seen TEDx speakers online. They are simply divine! TEDx was created in the spirit of TED [Technology, Entertainment, Design]’s mission, “ideas worth spreading.” The TEDx events are designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.

Some of the speakers have included, Chris Abani, Madeleine Albright, Richard Branson, Liza Donnelly [New Yorker cartoonist], Bill Ford [Executive chair of the Ford Motor Company], Elizabeth Gilbert, [the author of Eat, Pray, Love], Bill Gates, Melinda French Gates, Al Gore, Billy Graham, Herbie Hancock [iconic jazz musician], Thandie Newton and my personal favorites, William Kamkwamba and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
