Meet One Of The “Top 200 Young South Africans For 2011″ – Farah Fortune of African Star Communications!

Happy Saturday boys & girls!

.
Remember E!’s PR reality show, “The Spin Crowd” where cameras followed Command PR guys as they “executed red carpet events in Hollywood, cozied up to their high-profile A-list celebrity clients and tried to stay agile enough to keep last-minute mix-ups from spiraling into disasters.” Well, that kinda reminded me of Farah Fortune when I got her Press Release in the mail. We love us some Farah coz she is amazing at what she does and she also invites us to some of her fab events in South Africa. And boy, does she stay busy with her events & her business….
.
Starting a business in any day and age is not an easy job. Some try and they succeed, others try and it’s not always a great success. No one has a secret formula to making it big in business but passion for what you do is an old saying that most entrepreneurs live by.
.
Fab chic, Farah Fortune
.
Farah Fortune is no different. With only R1,000 to spend on starting a business in 2008, she really didn’t have much choice but to live on hope, prayer and passion to make her company; African Star Communications and Event Management succeed in an already competitive industry.
.
Having recently achieved being included in the South African publication, Mail & Guardian’s list of “Top 200 Young South Africans 2011” in the Business and Law section, Farah said:
.

“This is a dream come true. I’ve worked hard and spent sleepless nights trying to see make my company successful, this kind of recognition is a blessing”.

.

With 3 years of running African Star under her belt and having organised such events as Dudu Zuma, the Presidents daughter’s birthday bashes and recently her wedding, including the launch of American Brand clothing, Penguin, where she talked Clint Eastwood into attending her event and so much more, Farah still says she has not achieved anything near what she envisions African Star to be.
.
Farah has also recently opened African Star in Lagos, Nigeria with a staff base of three. With such big achievements in such a short time, Farah is definitely ensuring her African star shines bright.
