“On the 30th April 2011, the Amstel Golden Hour will be going into collaborative mode, featuring Afro-pop sizzler Theo Kgosinkwe as part of the inaugural Drumbeat Festival.

The Festival, which is set to take place at Soweto’s Mofolo Park from 13h00, will feature a range of performances from afro-pop and jazz heavy-hitters , amongst them Hugh Masekela, Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse and Malaika. Theo’s inclusion in the line-up comes courtesy of the Amstel Golden Hour, as part of a long-running initiative to elevate South Africa’s music talent at the country’s biggest concerts.

The Drumbeat Festival is held in association with Drum Magazine, Amstel Lager and Hilltop Live.  Kicking off at 13h00, the show’s Mofolo Park location allows for audiences to come out and enjoy the music in a picnic-style setting, complete with braai stands, picnic baskets and camp chairs.”

  • Tickets are available from www.ticketbreak.co.za <http://www.ticketbreak.co.za>  and all Musica Stores  at R50 (excluding service fees)
  • The Amstel Golden Hour concert series in Soweto are a monthly musical showcase featuring established and emerging South African musical talent. The sessions will run until December 2011.
