“Here we go the JUJU drive on MetroFM”

This was the toptweet as MetroFM programming came to a stand still, to allow “celebrity take over” which saw Kuli Roberts and Joey Rasidien add some “colour” to the biggest urban radio station, two days ago. Yesterday popular live presenter Minnie and ANC Youth League president, Julius Malema made waves on the airwaves.

The 3 Hour “Avenue” take over played South African music only, which was a really nice touch, with Boom Shaka’s hit single “its about time” as the opening song. The highlight of the show was most definitely our beloved Juju’s opening link “we are relaxing here at the Metro Fm studio”

He then went on to explain how Louis Vega is his “home boy” and how he enjoyed chilling with him in “meeeaaamie” (Miami).lol

He also specifically chose NOT to tackle or answer any political questions from callers, which was a smart move because Helen Zille was probably listening very closely and dancing to BOPs Manyonyoba in between links.

Minnie basically held the show together, in between some of Julius’ random chirps about how it’s highly probable to meet a loved one in a club, for someone who has never been on radio she did a fantastic job.

The “queen of bling” Khanyi Mbau together with David Kau are currently co-hosting the final celebrity take over between 15:00 and 18:00 now on MetroFm. Khanyi tweeted the pic below just before they went on air…

Khanyi and David Kau…

Rumour has it that Tbo Touch will be handling the drive from then on tltltltl…I’ll reserve my comments.

Did you enjoy the “celebrity take overs”?

I’m a passionate writer, who enjoys writing and informing people as well as learning new things. I love sports, the arts and music. I am a sports presenter of UJfm 95.4 as well as other things. Simply put, I am a dynamic young lady who wants to bring about chnage and have an impact in both the media industry and in people’s lives.
