Seen on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and in Rolling Stone, Habib Koite is a Malian superstar whose breathtaking melodic guitar playing reflects the diverse musical traditions of his homeland.

Lovingly called “Tuku“, legendary Zimbabwean artist Oliver Mtukudzi‘s undeniably contagious music is inspired by the hypnotic rhythms of the mbira (thumb piano), and incorporates pop, South African mbaqanga, the energetic Zimbabwean pop style JIT, and traditional kateke drumming.

Malian guitarist, singer, composer, and nephew-protege of Ali Farka Toure, Afel Bocoum‘s guitar and vocals evoke the flowing melodies of the river and the pulsating rhythms of a harsh desert wind. Presented in association with The Royal Conservatory
