Yesterday, the world woke up to the news that “World Cup” predicting octopus Paul the psychic was dead.  “Paul died early on Tuesday of natural causes. His passing was mourned by the world football community and the aquarium in Oberhausen announced it would set up a small monument in his honour”.

If you don’t remember who Paul is, let me refresh your memory a bit. This is the very same octopus that predicted that the loss of many of footballs most loved teams in the 2010 Fifa World Cup including the final match prediction that Spain would be victorious over the Dutch. If you are wondering if he was right or not…he was right!

While many have said “good riddens to bad rubbish” after Paul’s death, I wonder how he would have predicted the 2014 Fifa World Cup games. Personally, I was not a fan of Paul! I loved watching my games in peace and wonderment! I didn’t appreciate watching a game knowing who the winner would be before the final whistle was blown.

Diego Maradona

One person who came out and tweeted that he is glad the Psychic Paul is dead was Diego Maradona. The former Argentine coach tweeted: “I am happy your gone Psychic Octopus, it’s your fault we lost the World Cup,”.

Funny or not, most of the tweets that came through all day had one similar question in them: “Did Paul see his own death coming?” (LOL) I guess we’ll never know, now will we?

From your girl Allegro Dinkwanyane-“I’m just saying”, so have your say…

Do you think Paul saw his death coming?
