History is made yet again in South Africa and this time by one of South Africa’s recognized and talented artists, Lira. She is set to be the first South African musician to release on BLU-RAY (Now that’s HUGE!!!).

Not only is her DVD “Live In Concert- A Celebration” breaking sales records, but it also goes down in history as the first local music concert to be released on Blu-Ray in South Africa next month (November 2010).

The DVD which was recorded before an amped crowed of 3800 people last year at Carnival City is now the fastest selling DVD in South Africa, reaching Double-Platinum sales in just ten months (five months earlier than Celine Dion’s worldwide multi-platinum DVD “Live in Las Vegas: A New Day”.

Lira say: “I believe it’s one thing to have a grand vision of how to direct your career and quite another to enlist others to share your vision. None of this would have been possible without my fans and the people who believe in me and what I have to offer. I appreciate how people still go out of in their numbers to experience my shows. The love I’m shown out there is remarkable. My commitment is to keep it coming! Thank you for your support-you make it easy to spread my wings and fly”. (WOW!!! This is such a Kleenex moment for me…)

Lira’s Facebook fans now have a chance to pre-order the concert on Blu-Ray ahead of the release in November 2010 through . BUT it doesn’t end here, also scheduled in November 2010 is the audio CD “Live In Concert- A Celebration” (Remastered Second Edition). This sonically enhanced live recording will include over 20 minutes of previously unreleased concert material and bonus tracks. Among these is the tribute to Nelson Mandela “Something Inside So Strong” as performed by Lira and the Soweto Spiritual Singers at the Sony 3D stage at the Nelson Mandela Square on the 4th of July 2010.

All I can say now is “I’m a believer”! A very proud moment for South African’s right now…Thank you so much Lira. Well-done and we wish you all the best with future projects “keep flying the Mzansi flag high” SALUTE!!!

From your girl Allegro Dinkwanyane-“I’m just saying with a lot of pride”, so have your say…

How amazing is this??? What do you think of Lira’s HUGE achievement?
