The nominees for the 2nd Annual Feather Awards were announced recently at a lavished venue called Melon in Melville, Johannesburg.  The Feather Awards were founded by Thami Kotlolo, the self-proclaimed “ANC Gay Youth League” (lol). They serve to celebrate being gay loudly, boldly and proudly. The awards are also about celebrating all things cheeky, gorgeous and fabulous (In my best Kimora Lee-Simmons voice “it’s all about FABULOSITY”).

The awards will be held on the 10th November (invite only, so no gate-crashers please!). Chevrolet has teamed up with The Feathers yet again and this year they promise an even greater celebration.

And the nominees are…

Best Styled Female

  1. Nkhensani Nkosi
  2. Pabi Moloi
  3. Jo-Anne Strauss (I put my money on her)

Best Styled Male

  1. Kaizer Motaung Jr
  2. Kwela Brothers (I think these brothers deserve it)
  3. Ole Ledimo

Hunk of the Year

  1. JC Ngandu
  2. Janez Vermeiren (Without a doubt I mean…)
  3. Kaos Matu

Diva Extraordinaire of the Year

  1. David Tlale (#enuffsaid)
  2. Gerri Elsdon
  3. Precious Motsepe

Sports Personality of the Year

  1. Siphiwe Tshabalala (scoring the 1st goal of the 2010 WC will do in this case)
  2. King Louis Oosthuizen
  3. Katlego Mphela

Role model of the Year

  1. Kabelo Mabalane
  2. Lira (I just think she deserves it…)
  3. HHP

Cutest Couple

  1. Sonia & Mathew Booth
  2. Nicky Van der Walt & Lee-Anne Liebenburg
  3. Speedy & Stoan (Bromance)  (For a change I’ll say these guys deserve it)

Hot Chick of the Year

  1. Shashi Naidoo (she is hot!)
  2. Bonang Matheba (she knows how to look the part)
  3. Joelle Kayembe (one of the hottest models I know)

I think this is the hardest category, the Feathers must just be nice and give each of these HOTTT ladies an award or perhaps a joint award!

Fag hag of the Year

  1. Sophie Ndaba (based on what I saw from her birthday party this year, she takes it)
  2. Dineo Ranaka
  3. Lucia Mthiyane

  1. BlackCoffee (#enuffsaid)
  2. JR
  3. Locnville

  1. Sophie Ndaba (she is Queen afterall…darlings)
  2. Lucia Mthiyane
  3. Kwela Tebza

Drama Queen

  1. Chris Maruleng
  2. Theunis Crous (Without a doubt! But maybe Khanyi Mbau should be a joint winner on this one…)
  3. Lebo M

P.S: There is no voting from the public, the judges will decide on the winners.

All I have to say is for the Fag Hag of the year my money is on Dineo Ranaka. I love that girl so much, she is the only celebrity who is down to earth according to me.
