This was such an honor and a privilege for us here at FaraiToday: to interview one of South Africa, really Africa’s high-profile media moguls & darlings, Khanyi Dhlomo or Khanyi Dhlomo-Chijioke (she recently tied the knot!). If you don’t already know who she is, Khanyi is one of the major driving forces behind the magazine industry in South Africa!

Khanyi is the Managing Director of Ndalo Media that she founded in 2007 after she graduated Harvard Business School with an MBA. Ndalo Media is a joint-venture with Media24 and is the parent company of the glossy women’s magazine, Destiny Magazine.

August cover features uber fab fashion designer, Nkhensani Nkosi of Stoned Cherrie

Khanyi’s primary objective for launching the innovative print publications and digital media products (DestinyConnect & DestinyMan) was simple: fulfill the needs of the ever-changing, complex South African population, particularly the women. And she nailed it! Readership for the magazine sky-rocketed & part of the reason is the real & relevant topics it covers for & about the modern South African woman.

Khanyi established herself in the world of media early in her career, first as a TV news and lifestyle anchor. She then edited women’s magazine True Love for eight years…Fast forward to 2010, she had a fairytale wedding earlier on in the year, was selected as a 2010 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum – an honor which recognizes the most distinguished young leaders under the age of 40 from around the world. Can I say, superwoman!

And did we mention her most exciting news? Khanyi is expecting a little one!!

ps…Apologies guys & dolls, but unfortunately due to technical problems, the remaining segment of our interview with Khanyi was not captured. But we definitely will be keeping up Khanyi as she blazes the trail for African women, both on the continent & in the diaspora!

DestinyConnect & DestinyMan! Will You Be Joining KHANYI’s Movement?!?!?

Holla back & let us know that you did….
