South Africa’s well known and much loved socialite extraordinaire and social blogger Mika Stefano celebrated his birthday in style last night. The party was held in the heart of Johannesburg, Newtown at Le Mix Room. It was the first time I went to Le Mix Room and boy was I impressed. It’s the perfect club to dance the night away without having to worry about rubbing against someone while you actually trying to move around *smile*.

Mika Stefano – in his first outfit!

The theme was Disco and the host didn’t miss it, he even rocked the Afro in his first outfit of the night. Mika had three outfits for the night. He looked very cute in the second outfit (much like the modern Santa) see for yourself…

The party was sponsored by Converse, Brutal Fruit, Fairlady, Sony BMG, Patron, Head Honcho, Flud Watches, Le Mix Room, Soul Candi, Wonted, Showlove, CameraShy, C4, Kabello Agency, KillaKam, Star Productions, SoulTraxxMobile, Mogul Pics, HairBar and Vitamin Water. It sure to be a great party!!! SL magazine were also there snapping pics of Mika and his guests…(Loved it, I felt like I was in a photo shoot, with props and all)

The DJ line-up included DJ Franky (who was there with girlfriend Tumisang), YFM’s Mac G, Souls Candi’s Terrance Parker (who thought “the SA House/club scene is growing and we are more globally recognized. It’s great to see people coming out to party”. When I asked where he gets his inspiration… “I just source it out from the crowd”. Warras from YFM was also there, along with the Twins on Decks, Vigi, Biz, Master M and Roxxi.

With this line up, guests were kept danicing all night long. From House to Hip-Hop, to Reggae and back to Kwaito (now who said Kwaito was dead???).

I spotted some of Jozi’s celebrities and socialites such as Ms Khayi Mbau (who pulled a show stopper on the dance floor, as usual). Khabonina Qubeka, like a true dancer brought the house down. There was a point where the whole club just stood and watched her do her thing! Seriously, you had to be there to see her get busy on the dance floor! It was really nice to meet her and she mistook my beauty for an American. “You are so beautiful, I thought you were American” Thanks Khabo but girl, I can proudly say “all of this is proudly South African”.

Speaking of beauty, check out these two lovely ladies I spotted in the ladies room – Mzansilicious I tell you…

Slikour (Skwatta Kamp) and “Show Dem” hit maker JR, unfortunately they left before I could get a snapshot. KoldProduk’s Moki Sage was also there and I can safely say “my friend hahaha” & designer Dennis Maponya as well as Gert Coetzee (another South African designer) came out to celebrate with Mika.

In the mist of all the celebrations, Mika and his crew were also shooting snippets of the party for his new show “The Mika Stefano show”. If you don’t see him at party or some sort of event, just know that it’s probably not the hottest party in town. Mika also brings us his weekly gossip show on the South African radio station, 94.7 Highveld Radio.

My girlfriends and I thought we would leave earlier but let’s just say we were still partying up a storm at 3am (don’t judge!)

Fun times…

I absolutely loved the stylish Converse bag…

…which was the goodie bag, that came with all kinds of goodies…

(I know I’m going to rock this one! Thanks Mika)
