Continuing on with our coverage of the 2010 South African Fashion Week which was held recently in Johannesburg, South Africa. We checked out Thunderstorm, whose collection was inspired by “hard labor, and construction workers in South Africa” revealed designer Thabo Maserumule.

It was very creative and had a bit of mystery to it which left the audience waiting for more. TV presenter and former Miss SA Teen, Zibo Beda thought “it was amazing; they experimented with how men at work look in a very stylish way and it work”. Said VUZU TV’s Nonhle Thema, “It was quite different but at the same time it’s what we need on the runway. We don’t want to see the norm; it’s all about being bold and making a statement.”

Tshidi from South African Afro-pop group Malaika loved the creativity of Thunderstorm adding that as a creative person herself “I could understand the concept and their ideas. It made a statement and was refreshing.”

Surprise models for the Thunderstorm showing included award winning South African rapper Tuks (Tumelo Kepadisa).

Fun times all around…
