Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope that your day is filled with love and that you know & assured that you are cherished & treasured!

The Mercedes Benz Fashion Week continues and we were in NYC for the Arise Fashion Show. This year’s show presented the creations of Deola Sagoe of Nigeria, Loin Cloth and Ashes by Tanzanian born Anisa Mpungwe and Black Coffee by Jacques van der Watt of South Africa.

2010 Face of Africa winner, Lukundo on the runway for Arise Fashion Show

Metallic colors with touches of blue were the theme in Loin Cloth and Ashes fashion showing

Deola Sagoe’s creations have been recognized by Oprah, Will Smith & Vogue’s Andre Leon Talley

Model, Chanel Iman in Black Coffee

Have to mention that the producer of the show is South Africa’s Jan Malan & every fashion week, he continues to outdo himself! Loved the look & feel…peep the video!

What do you think of the 2010 Fall/Winter collections by the African designers? You dig? Please leave your comments below….

Heart you for it!

Bravo!! I am pretty darn impressed by ALL of them! That blue and gold is working for me and am a sucker for those capes! Everything just looks so good. ….sithi up and up (Izinyoka is playing in my mind lol)

Plus…that whole outfit on Lukundo is to die for (even though I cannot see the rest of it). Between the gray cape and the earrings. I approve.

    Hi Penny,

I will look into that and get back to you on that! I agree with you on that. I actually went to a private showcase for Deola at a NYC loft, only to be told we were given the wrong address….PR/Publicist for these designers need to push info on their designer clients….demand is there!!!
