long ago (and judging from this old bastard's comment) white men saw black women as something close to animals. that is, something they could tame and thus be labeled as real men. european settlers hunted game in africa and were proud of these achievements, taking pictures with the carcasses and posting them up on the walls. in the same way (to some white men, i dont want to generalize) white men see black women as wild things to tame. its an insatiable thirst that has been around for centuries. black women have always been over-sexualized in the eyes of the europeans, from our lips, thighs, and even buttocks (think Saartjie Baartman), and the rules of apartheid provided even more of a welcome obstacle to get to the hunt.

theunis, you silly old man. even though the apartheid laws disapproved of miscegenation, many many people went ahead. i would love to run through his history to see if he even tried. because its very easy to say you always loved black women, now that apartheid is over. more so, how convenient to say "dating" and not "marrying" black women...and so goes the myth. even before apartheid was institutionalized, white men (in south africa, europe and america), helped themselves to black women in all forms, but did not always see us as marriage material. some white men (God bless them) fought hard for their love of a black woman and married them despite the scorn from society.

so askies theunis. i dont feel sorry for you and your apartheid laws oppressed penis. you are a greedy old man who thinks black women are here for your pleasure. especially now that black men have satisfied your pockets.

and to everyone else who is worried about her children. dont worry, they will be just fine. they will grow up to see their sorry father for who he is and that will haunt him for the rest of his life.

eish, i don't know about you zanele, but my mother (a black woman who came from a very poor family) raised me alone and im doing just fine. my father (a rich white man who doesn't know i exist), didnt need to be around for me to know who i am. despite the immeasurable aggression i received from society (i was born in '78 in south africa, grew up in soweto), i never felt like i needed extra stability. definitely not more than someone with two white or two black parents. im not saying all people with black/white parents are, but your statement generalizes us. we are all different.
