Hola guys & dolls,
What a whirlwind…& we are back! Heartfelt congratulations to Khanyi & Chinezi who recently tied the knot in a spectacular wedding in South Africa!

Khanyi & Chinezi
Seriously, they are like royalty! Khanyi Dhlomo whom I so admire and adore, is one of Africa’s most successful female media moguls. Her background is pretty amazing and very inspirational! Khanyi started her career as a newscaster for Metro FM and then transitioned to the magazine industry at age 22 when she took over as the Editor of True Love Magazine. Under her leadership, the magazine soared! Not only did Khanyi double the publication’s readership and circulation, but she also received accolades including the AdVantage Magazine Editor of the Year Award in 2001

Khanyi Dhlomo is the currently the driving force behind Ndalo Media as Managing Director and Founding Editor of DESTINY MAGAZINE. Ndalo Media is parent company of the hugely popular high-end business and lifestyle magazine for African women, Destiny Magazine.

It was while completing her M.B.A. at Harvard Business School that Khanyi met her husband Chinezi Chijioke who is from Arochukwu, Abia State, Nigeria (he is Nigerian-American & extremely fine!). The cute couple met in 2005 at a fundraiser for the African Leadership Academy which was founded by Fred Swaniker; Chinezi’s classmate at Stanford Business School…that sparked a classic African romance!

Khanyi was quoted on one of the leading South African entertainment website, saying: “”The proposal was simple, traditional and beautiful. “He asked for my hand in marriage by asking my mother first, as my father has passed on”…

So their wedding was set in the lush natural surroundings of the Cape Winelands in Franschhoek. The bride’s ivory-coloured strapless dress with delicate embellishments was by Designer to the Stars, Elie Saab while the groom was uber handsome in his Black suit paired with a Baby Blue tie.

In the presence of their guests including the bride’s two children, the couple pledged their love and commitment then proceeded to dance the night away…fun times!! Who’s who of South Africa attended the uber fabulous wedding, including South African celebs Carol Bouwer, Puleng and Given Mkhari, Dr. Precious Moloi of African Fashion International and former Miss SA, Peggy-Sue Khumalo.

Wishing the newly-weds a beautiful long life together strengthened & protected by the love of God…

Wow, wow, wow!!
I met Khanyi briefly more than a decade ago at the South African Advertising Awards. I always knew that she would go a long way in the Media industry. Her marriage is a step towards more success that’s to come for her. True african princess and a lucky prince for Chezi. All the Best.
Hi Shona!
