Hi Venicia,

Well Oprah has been doing her show for the past 24 years and I think she is ready for her next challenge and assignment in life!

The Oprah Winfrey Network OWN will allow her to develop programs at are close to her heart and that deal with the issues she talks about on her show. So the OWN channel is an expansion of her platform, so for just a one hour show, she will be able to provide 24hrs of programming of topics that are close to her heart and that should hopefully resonate with her audience....

So it is true that on daytime, Oprah show will end in 2011 but that is when she will launch a 24hr network, OWN and she might continue the Oprah show there or not...either way Oprah is NOT leaving the business of media and television!!!

Cheers,
Farai

Hi Venicia,

I too am very excited about the movie on Winnie Mandela's life! I think that Winne has lived a fascinating life that at times has been misunderstood by people. I have not had the chance to read the actual book which the movie is based on but I think Darrell J. Roodt will do an amazing job since he has directed some great movies in Cry, The Beloved Country and Sarafina!

My only contention is that as amazing and awesome an actress Jeniffer Hudson is, I only wish they would have give South African actresses a chance to try out for the role! Leleti Khumalo comes to mind...I am sure they are plenty who could have played the powerful and complex role of Winnie Mandela.

It would have given much exposure and credibility to our acting abilities. Also the story is a South African one...Years down, will a South African play the role of First Lady Michelle Obama?

Please don't get me wrong, I am super excited that the story of Winnie is finally being told. It needs to be! Winnie was very instrumental in the struggle against apartheid. She remains an inspiration to many young African women....

Cheers,
Farai

Ahahahaha I am dead laughing on your reply and my previous comment, oh God I was so inspired this morning!!! Thanks Boss, I will take the job offer !!!

Well, the 2010 South African jersey has been launched weeks ago,,,We are definitely ready for the World Cup and accomodate all these nations. Johannesburg gets a new look every day and is preparing to offer everyone the best of itself.
The Ellis Park stadium, for example, which will host the opening games is tremendeously beautiful. I even took pictures the last time I passed by...The site is near the end but I can already attest that the celebration will be beautiful.

Everyone is happy: children, youngsters, oldies...Good news for students is that school will start early for everyone to finish writing exams before June 2010. Many of us, students, think that this is wise because it would have been a disaster if universities will still be open at that period & expect students to do well during their exams. At this point, some students are making fun of the employees who will be working all day long and not enjoy the games. Want it or not, they will be rewarded y their bosses.

It's all good here and wish everything goes well, inch'allah!

If Oprah puts an end to her show, what will happen to OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network)?

No , I Hope this is nor true. In any case, she just needs to rest if she is tired but not end the show. ;(
